The basic electrical principles are the foundation of electronics. This worksheet questions the student on volts, amps, resistance and power. This worksheet can be used to supplement chapter 1.

PICs

PICs are now part of the GCSE syllabus for Electronic products. This worksheet takes the student through the commands in BASIC to writing simple programs. Although the worksheet was written for the Chip Factory programming system it can easily be adapted for other systems. New Sept 03

Resistors

Being able to use the resistor colour code is essential when making circuits. This worksheet provides additional exercises to those in chapter 2.

More questions on the resistor colour code to supplement the previous worksheet. Ideal for use as extension work or as a revision sheet. New Sept 03

Measuring resistors using a multimeter  is useful especially when the colour bands are difficult to identify.

Resistors are supplied in preferred values. The 20 questions challenge the student to choose the appropriate resistor from the E12 range. New Sept 03

Being able to calculate the overall resistance of resistors connected in series and parallel and the voltage output of a potential divider. Exercises are provided on each of these areas and supplement the exercises in chapter 2.

Symbols

Recognising  circuit symbols is another essential part of electronics from being able to draw circuit diagrams to constructing circuits from diagrams. This worksheet provides 20 symbols for the student to identify.
